The County of Volusia is seeking an experienced Deputy Director for the County of Volusia's Convention/Ocean Center located in Daytona Beach Florida. The Deputy Director will be responsible for assisting the Ocean Center Director with overseeing the day-to-day operational management of the county's 500,000-square-foot meeting, convention and event complex and its parking facilities. This position will be highly responsible for administrative and technical management work for the Ocean Center Director, exercising line authority over the Convention/Ocean Center to carry out the functions and activities necessary for the facility's effective and efficient operation. In addition, the Deputy Director will be responsible for capital management projects and, in conjunction with the Director, will assist with finance, budgeting, planning, promoting, marketing, directing and coordinating activities within the Convention/Ocean Center.

**Note: Travel is required for this position. **

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or a related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in finance and budgeting, as well as the administration, marketing and promotional management of a 100,000 square foot or larger civic/convention center. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
The preferred candidate (having met the minimum requirements), will have an additional two (2) years (total of seven (7) years) of proven work experience in managing the operations of a 100,000 square foot or larger civic/convention center, including direct experience with the financials and budget.
