About Opening Nights at Florida State University:

Opening Nights at Florida State University is the professional performing arts presenter at FSU, presenting over 40 events of music, theatre, comedy, visual arts, spoken word, and dance in Florida's capital city each season. Opening Nights has been bringing world-class performances and educational events to campus and the surrounding region for more than two decades.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Opening Nights, the Box Office Coordinator manages all box office operations of Opening Nights at Florida State University. Responsibilities of the position include:

Overseeing the ticketing process for all Opening Nights ticketed events, including onsite sales, will call, and general ticket operations. Collaborate with vendors, consultants, programmers, and technical support personnel in selecting, purchasing, operating, maintaining and upgrading computerized point-of-sale ticketing system for Opening Nights. Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to create marketing campaigns focused on selling tickets. Develop, recommend, and implement ticketing policies and procedures.

Continually evaluate sales system and develop strategies for improved internal productivity and external customer experience. Work with Director and Assistant Director to scale each event and provide proposed seating charts. Upon approval, build events in ticket system including all event information and special offers. Place required ticket holds. Maintain event files for reference when planning events. Order show builds, manage wait list, and oversee ticket sales and order processing.

Coordination of daily sales reconciliation via phone, walk-up, and internet transactions as well as reporting and depositing daily receipts in adherence with University policies and procedures. Manage scanners for accurate attendance counts and submits report to Assistant Director at the end of each event. Process orders and payments for tickets, including management and editing of data, allocating, printing, and mailing tickets.

Perform data management tasks to ensure accurate database information for ticket purchasers, including members and sponsors. Monitor and ensure compliance with FSU Cash Handling and Cash Collection Point procedures, as well as all applicable PCI compliance requirements. Submit final house reports to all ON staff at the conclusion of each event.

Supervise box office staff to include hiring, training and performance evaluation, and daily guidance as needed. Schedule staff for daytime sales, night and weekend events. Supervise House Manager to include hiring, training and performance evaluation, and daily guidance as needed. Establish, enforce, and oversee on-the-spot interpretation of policies concerning patrons needs, resolution of ticketing and seating issues, ADA-related concerns, as well as ticket sales and customer service. As the first to interact with ON visitors, the Box Office Coordinator plays an important role in providing an excellent customer service experience including answering customer questions successfully.

Develop, administer, and monitor a yearly budget for operating the ON box office.


Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in the arts, finance, or other related field and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Experience with and knowledge of ticketing management software and box office management.
Conversant in a wide variety of performing arts genres.
Knowledge of cash handling and accounting.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal control systems.
Ability to review and reconcile financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Experience demonstrating effective customer service.
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience meeting project deadlines.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred:
Experience with AudienceView ticketing system.
Previous office and/or cash handling experience, including balancing daily collections and assisting with the technology checkout process as well as record upkeep and compliance.
A team player.
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience.
