Summary:

This position performs responsible management, promotion, marketing and coordination of the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center for stage productions, programs, and events. Work is reviewed for the achievement of goals and objectives and the adherence to established policies and procedures and works under the general supervision of the Assistant Leisure Services Director.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides professional leadership for the Performing Arts Center Leisure Services, facilities and personnel. Negotiates all terms, conditions, and schedules with producer and concession contracts.

Plans, organizes, evaluates, measures benefits of, and implements leisure programs in the studio and conference rooms and prepares and monitors theater schedules.

Supervises and monitors box office, theater schedules and necessary sound, stage and lighting requirements. Responsible for the repair, maintenance and operation of the building and grounds.

Manages financial business of Center, assists with the preparation of the annual budget, negotiates contracts for scripts and/or performers, orders supplies, etc. Responsible for budget and collection of monies.

Books stage attractions designed to meet the community’s tastes and needs for both performers and participants. Coordinates marketing efforts for the Performing Arts Center. Solicits advertisement from business and community groups as well as corporate sponsorships and donations.

Attends all organizational meetings that foster sound relationships especially with the Friends of the OB Performing Arts Center, a Not-for-Profit(c) organization.

Facilitates public and private facility rentals of the Ormond Beach Senior Center for meetings, seminars, receptions, classes, etc.; coordinates scheduling and evaluates programs of said center.

Supervises and trains center staff and requisitions equipment.



Confers with Stage/Production Manager to coordinate production plans.

Provides technical direction, production stage management and tier one audiovisual technical support to major City events.

Assists in preparation for, response to, and recovery from, the impacts of a wide variety of disasters or emergency situations and may be temporarily assigned to other duties, locations, and shifts.

Meets attendance requirements.

Promotes positive customer service environment internally and externally.

Performs other job-related functions as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees, contractors, and volunteers in the Performing Arts Center.


Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Theatre/ Stage Management, Parks and Recreation/Leisure Services or related field from a four-year college or university; and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference is given to professional certification.

Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Certified Parks and Recreation Professional – preferred

Certified Technology Specialist – preferred

CPR & AED Certification
